TIMETOACT merges with Munich-based Edcom

The merger extends the product portfolio and creates synergies

The TIMETOACT Group consists of TIMETOACT, Edcom and X-Integrate and with its 60 employees it is one of the largest provider of IBM Lotus and Websphere software, services and products within the German-speaking part of Europe.

"We opted for the merger, because our products and service offerings supplement each other perfectly. Now we can offer a broader service to our clients and benefit from increasing market potential”, Ms. Anneliese Wasserer-Förg gladly comments.

Since 1993 Edcom has had one of the world’s first Lotus Authorized Education Centres and is renowned for their training in the fields of IBM, Novell and Microsoft software. The traditional and by far the biggest German Lotussphere summary “Lotusphere Comes To You” and the periodical “Deep In Use” Event completes their information and training offerings for developers and administrators. Furthermore several companies in the southern part of Germany rely on Edcom in the crucial field of license consulting and license management. Their own products such as teamCalender, teamOffice and Vacation Manager, are well established in the market and improved constantly. “As well as many other clients we have also been using the Edcom Team applications for many years. They help us to improve our internal organisation. There is a great potential in those small but proven applications.” says Felix Binsack, founder and CEO of TIMETOACT.

Edcom focuses on comprehensive consulting-, support- and out-tasking services for Lotus and Webshere infrastructures and it has strong partnerships with 13 different system integrators. “TIMETOACT focuses on application development and has strong expertise in the fields Content Management, Eclipse, Portals, J2EE and Web 2.0. We develop out-of-the-box products as well as customized solutions for intra-, extra and internet. This combination and together with X-Integrate, who is an expert for business integration all companies within the TIMETOACT group complement one another perfectly. We are well positioned given the fact that we have 360 year IBM software consulting and development experience”, states Felix Binsack.

Otto Förg, collaboration solutions architect of Edcom, adds:“ We want to expand the conception and development of web applications and Notes 8 composite applications in Munich. Therefore the TIMTOWEB content management system, the Employee Pages as well as the comprehensive experience of TIMETOACT with Eclipse application development meets our requirements very well.”

The technological development of service oriented architecture, portals, composite applications and new IBM products such as Connections, Quickr and Portal Accelerators require an increasing specialization. As a result client expectations regarding competence, efficiency, know how and flexibility have changed. Hermann Ballé also CEO of TIMETOACT states “The main challenge for IBM business partners is to offer comprehensive consulting and support to their clients. This can only be achieved with strong partners.”

“The most significant reason for our decision in favour of TIMETOACT was neither the know how nor the products, but our shared understanding of how to interact with clients and employees.” explains Ms. Wasser-Förg. We strive for a long-standing confiding partnership with focus on customer satisfaction. Our corporate cultures fit together perfectly. We therefore got along with each other immediately.”

The two IBM Premier Business Partners remain at their locations in Munich and Cologne and continue to operate independently with an unchanged management. In the course of the merger TIMETOACT acquired the corporate shares of Edcom. Edcom will be managed by Anneliese Wasserer-Förg as the CEO, Otto Förg as the director of applications and Wolfgang Meixner as the director of infrastructure. The CEO’s and associates of TIMETOACT are Felix Binsack and Hermann Ballé.
