New Connections Administration Toolkit Release: Useful New Features and Support of Connections 3.0.1.1
With CAT complex multilevel administration commands can be done with just a single click, even by administrators without WebSphere background. Easily accelerate and automate administrative tasks and enhance the maintenance tasks for IBM Connections. Benefit from extremely lowered effort for training and maintenance.
This new release of CAT is now optimized for the use with IBM Connections 3.0.1.1. On top we have added some more great features. Here are our release notes:
CAT now offers 20+ different roles, one per Connection feature and operation type (manage / configure).
In one of the next releases additional roles limiting access to delete operations will be added.
CAT is working on any WebSphere Application Server of the WebSphere domain used by your IBM Connections deployment
These configuration settings can now be set using the CAT user interface. A button enables the administrator to reset the values of selected profile types to the IBM Connections default values.
We will implement these functions into CAT in one of the next releases.

New: Fine-grained Access Control for CAT
In previous releases access to CAT was controlled by one J2E role giving access to all features of CAT. Customers reported that they would like to have the possibility to define different access levels for their Connections administrators.CAT now offers 20+ different roles, one per Connection feature and operation type (manage / configure).
In one of the next releases additional roles limiting access to delete operations will be added.
New: Install CAT on any WebSphere Application Server
In previous releases CAT had to be installed onto a WebSphere Application Server running on the Deployment Manager node. This restriction is obsolete now.CAT is working on any WebSphere Application Server of the WebSphere domain used by your IBM Connections deployment
New: Streamlined Installation / Update Procedure
In previous releases of CAT its configuration file initialdata.xml had to be deployed in a separate step. Now the file is installed and updated automatically.New in Management of Activities
A new filter type "Open" selects all activities that are not "completed" or "deleted".New: Management of Profile Types
Connections allows different configuration settings in the profiles feature for user types, which are maintained in the underlying user repository.These configuration settings can now be set using the CAT user interface. Support of the IBM Connections 3.0.1.1 Release
We have successfully tested CAT with IBM Connections 3.0.1.1 - everything is working fine. The current version of CAT does not yet support the few additional administrative functions IBM added to Connections with the 3.0.1.1 fix pack.We will implement these functions into CAT in one of the next releases.
